Advice Needed on Grow Light Wattage for My Plants

Hey everyone, I need some advice on upgrading my grow lights. I've noticed they aren't providing enough strength for my plants. I've heard that 80W is optimal, but currently, I've got six 42W lights connected. Is that sufficient, or is the 80W recommendation for each individual light? Any insights would be appreciated! Thanks!

Wattage can be a tricky metric for lights; it’s often better to focus on PPFD (Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density). There are apps out there that can help you measure the light intensity at your plants' locations. But if you don't have access to that, just move your lights a bit closer and observe how your plants react over a couple of weeks. Adjust as needed!

It really depends on what you're growing and how close your lights are to the plants. Make sure to check the distance from your plants to the lights—too far away won't help them! If you're using 20W lights, like you mentioned, they're a bit weak, especially for more light-hungry plants. You might want to look into something stronger if they seem to be struggling after adjusting the distance.
