I've been struggling with drain flies in my shower, and despite my cleaning efforts, they keep returning. I understand that they might be breeding in the organic matter inside the drains. Has anyone found a long-term solution for this? Should I look into specialized cleaning products, drain gels, or maybe even some plumbing remedies? I'd really appreciate any tips that have worked for you!

I had a similar issue right after moving into my rental. My landlord tried using Draino, but it didn't help at all. I realized the flies must be breeding in the gunk in the pipes, so I went with Green Gobbler. It was surprisingly effective – not specifically for drain flies, but it tackled the organic buildup, and I haven't seen the flies since!
How much of it did you pour in? Did you use boiling water or scrub the drain before?
Whenever I've had drain flies, I just boiled a kettle of water and poured it right down the drain. It helped a lot in keeping them away!

Green Gobbler for the win! It's done wonders!
