Hey everyone! I'm in the process of hooking up a new EG4 indoor wall mount battery to my off-grid system. I've got Midnite Solar classic charge controllers and need to reconfigure them since my previous batteries were flooded lead acid. I reached out to Midnite for guidance, and they suggested I gather the battery specs from the manufacturer to input the right settings. Specifically, I need to know the recommended Absorb, Float voltages, and times, plus EQ recommendations. If anyone knows where to find this info, or has insights on similar setups, I'd really appreciate your help. Thanks a ton!

It's great to hear that Midnite Solar has such responsive customer support. I've noticed that EG4 seems to lack the same level of assistance. Anyone know why that might be?
From the EG4 webpage, I found the following specs for the battery: Charging Voltage (Bulk/Absorb) is 56.0V and Float Voltage is 54V. For the absorb time, I suggest setting it to around 10 minutes instead of zero. Also, remember to disable any temperature compensation. You can set your EQ to be the same as the absorb charge, which is what you mentioned you’d do.
Thanks for confirming! I had seen those specs too but just wanted to make sure I wasn't overlooking anything important.
I usually prefer a longer absorb time, around 1 to 2 hours, but that can depend on solar input and your overall battery bank size. If you’re using Victron, there's a tail current option that automatically adjusts absorb time!

Yeah, Midnite really answered my emails quickly, unlike EG4 who didn't respond at all. It's frustrating sometimes!
