I'm not really sure how this works, but I'm hoping to buy carpet from a friend who works at Shaw. Would it be possible for a local contractor to measure and install the carpet for me?

Yeah, you can usually hire a local contractor for that! I had a similar situation when I bought wood flooring from a store that didn't do installations, and the contractor I found had no issues working with the materials I got elsewhere. Just make sure to discuss everything with them before starting.

If you're unsure, just reach out to a local contractor and ask! They should be able to help you out, even if you're not in the area yet. I get that you're moving 800 miles away; just look for contractors in that location to get some quotes and info.

Thanks! That's what I thought might be best; I just don't know anyone there yet.
