I just moved into my first home and have been working hard on my garden. I've overseeded the lawns and planted two flower beds, but now I'm dealing with some annoying visitors. I've found holes dug in the lawn fleece and even poop and pee in the flower beds. I've tried various deterrents like cayenne pepper, garlic oil, and citrus peels, and I've even ordered a motion sensor sprinkler. I'm looking for more tested and effective ways to keep these foxes and cats away. Any suggestions?

I've found that using motion-activated water sprinklers can really help keep those pesky critters away. They work for both cats and foxes since the unexpected spray sends them running!
You might want to try laying twigs and sticks over the areas you're trying to protect. Foxes and cats prefer clear paths to walk on, so a messy surface might deter them from digging around in your flower beds.
Using lion poop as a repellent can be effective too. It sounds strange, but it's available at some garden stores and supposedly works wonders against cats.
I’ve had some luck with chicken wire. If you put it down around your flower beds, it makes it tough for them to dig. Just make sure it's not visible when you're planting flowers.
Same here! I use chicken wire on vulnerable spots, and it seems to be doing the trick so far.
Honestly, sometimes you just have to accept that it's part of having a garden. If you don't want to spend a fortune trying to keep them out, find ways to tolerate them as much as you can. But yeah, motion-activated sprinklers are basically the gold standard for keeping wildlife at bay.
I get that! I still want my plants to survive, but I'll try the sprinklers for sure.

That's exactly what worked for me too! I used to have squirrels digging up my lawn, but the motion sprinkler solved that problem.
