I'm doing a bathroom remodel and I've installed sag-resistant drywall everywhere, except in the shower where I've used cement board. I just want to confirm that this is the right approach for the shower area and if there's anything else I need to do to ensure it's waterproof.

It sounds like you're doing great, but remember, you shouldn’t tile directly on drywall in wet areas. Cement board is the way to go since it won't sag. Just ensure you have the shower wall and tub properly set up for the best durability!
Using cement board in the shower area is a solid choice! Just make sure to apply a waterproof thinset over it before tiling. Also, if you're adding a shower pan, that should help keep everything watertight too.
