How to Clean a Disposable Razor While Shaving?

Asked By CuriousCat90 On

I'm trying to figure out the best way to clean my disposable razor every couple of swipes while shaving. I've usually just tapped it against the sink, but I've noticed it can sometimes break. Plus, I've had some complaints about the noise, so I'm looking for quieter alternatives. Any tips would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

In a pinch, swishing the razor in a bowl of water works great too. You can conserve water and keep it clean with less effort. Just dip and shake it a bit after every few swipes!

That’s clever! I usually have a cup of water nearby when I shave.

Running it under water works pretty well. Just hold the blade facing up and tilt it sideways a bit to rinse out any hair. It's not perfect, but it's good enough for another couple of swipes!

A great tip! I've also found that if you run it under the water from the backside, it helps a lot more than just flowing water over the front.

I repurpose an old toothbrush to gently scrub the blades under running water. It’s a game changer and keeps the razor cleaner for a longer time!

If you're dealing with a heavy beard, switching to a safety razor might save you time and hassle. Just unscrew the handle and the blade pops out. Much easier to clean and gives a closer shave!

Totally agree! I've switched to a safety razor, and it really is so much better. Cleaner, smoother, and saves money in the long run!

Absolutely, plus it's way better for the environment!

Keep it simple: just run it under water, then tap it against the side of your sink. If your sink or shower doesn’t have enough pressure, try using a small bowl of water to rinse it instead. It's not fancy, but it gets the job done!
