Has anyone else noticed how pricey half sheets of plywood can get? It seems like you might be better off just buying a full sheet instead, since the prices can be pretty close. I'm working on a project that involves using MDF, and while I plan to use 3/4" for most of it, I thought about using 1/2" in some areas to lighten the load. The thing is, I don't really need a full sheet of 1/2", but paying $25 for a quarter sheet just doesn't seem smart when a full sheet goes for $50. Is there a better way to buy smaller amounts without getting ripped off?

If you're in the Midwest, Menards has decent pricing on project panels. They can be a better value than the larger sheets, especially if you’re doing smaller projects.
You’re definitely hit with higher costs for half sheets due to the extra processing and shipping involved, plus suppliers sell fewer of them, which can drive up the price. It’s a bummer, really!
You might want to check out used listings! People often sell leftover sheets for cheap. And if you're really set on using just a quarter, sometimes it’s better to just bite the bullet and pay that $25 rather than having a big piece of leftover sheet taking up space in your workshop.

Good call! I’ll definitely look into that. I don’t need extra clutter in my shop!
