I'm on the hunt for reliable sources of hardwoods because the quality at woodworkerssource.com has been dropping lately. I've mostly been purchasing S4S and S3S lumber, but I've been dealing with a lot of unusable pieces recently. I want to know where you all buy your hardwoods! Any recommendations?

I second the recommendation for Ocooch Hardwoods if you can check them out. They have a solid reputation! If you're ever in a pinch, Baird Brothers is reliable too, though their prices can sting a bit.
Google maps is your friend! Just type in "hardwood suppliers" in your area and you'll likely find some gems. I found a place that mainly supplies professionals, but they're very open to selling smaller amounts.
That's a smart approach! I did the same and it really paid off. Picking the wood yourself is a game changer!
You might also want to look into some other websites. Here are a few I found helpful:
- Crmutterspaw.com
- Bellforestproducts.com
- Rarewoodsusa.com
- Facebook Marketplace
- Craigslist
You might be surprised at what you can find, even if Craigslist feels outdated!
Thanks for the list! Didn't know Craigslist was still a thing, lol.
If you're searching for quality, look for a local mill rather than relying solely on online shops. But if local options are limited for you, I've had great luck with Bell Forest; they're worth checking out because you can hand-pick your boards. Their descriptions and photos are pretty spot on.
True, but some of us are in areas where options are scarce. Bell Forest is pricey due to their location, but their selection is impressive!

Baird Brothers is good, but man, they can be expensive!
