I'm looking to create a wooden funnel, but all the tutorials I find involve using a lathe. I currently have a bandsaw, a router with a plunge base, and some rasps and hand tools. I would prefer not to invest in a lathe since I don't plan to do much turning later. Does anyone have creative hacks or methods to make a funnel with the tools I have? Thanks in advance!

Here’s another idea! You could take two pieces of wood and bandsaw out the profile of your funnel. After that, use a router or chisels to hollow out the inside, then glue the two halves together. Shaping the outside is optional; if you don’t shape it, the funnel will have a rectangular section, but if you do, you can go for circular or oval shapes. Whatever method you go with, just enjoy the process and learn from it!
As someone who's just starting out, you might like this idea: try using your bandsaw to cut a bunch of rings at sharp angles and then stack those rings to create a funnel shape, similar to the bowl-making technique in this video. Just remember, you’ll likely have to play around with the angles to get it right, and you might end up needing a lot of rings to glue together. Check out this Bandsaw Bowls video for some visual help!
Another approach you could take is to simply route out the top of the funnel gradually, then drill through the bottom for the spout. Just make sure you take your time to get the shape right, especially if you’re new to this!
You can definitely make a funnel with the tools you have! Start by using your bandsaw to cut some boards into triangular shapes. If you create a pattern, you can use a pattern bit with your router to ensure each piece is identical. After that, bevel the edges of each triangle on the bandsaw, then smooth them out with your hand tools. Once you’ve got your triangles ready, glue them together and wrap them in tape while they dry. This will create the funnel shape, as the bevels should help form a rounded edge. After the glue has dried, use a rasp to smooth out any flat spots. I recommend looking into coopering for more ideas!
Hmm will have to check out pattern bits!

Had something like this in mind but hadn’t put it together with the bandsaw and making rings - this makes sense and I appreciate the video link!
