What Impact Driver Should I Buy for Home Projects?

Asked By CraftyNinja88 On

I've been using an impact driver recently and realized how much I need one for various home projects like deck work and renovations. With a DeWalt promotion going on, I'm looking for recommendations on a versatile impact driver that can handle tight spaces, especially since I'm really interested in the compact Atomic series. I don't want to overspend, but I've learned from past mistakes that it's worth it to invest in quality tools. Any suggestions?

I've used several models and I'd recommend sticking to the 800 series. The 850 is a classic and it’s pretty reliable, but if you want something newer, the 870 is the way to go—it's quieter and still powerful. If you can find a good deal on the 845, that's a solid option too. Just ensure whatever you choose fits well in your hand and feels comfortable when using it.

Just to add, the 850 and 887 actually have similar power, so don’t worry too much about getting the latest model. Sometimes the older ones have that classic feel that’s hard to beat!
