Why Are My Living Room Lights Flickering Only At Startup?

Hey everyone! I've been having an issue with my living room lights lately. There are six recessed LED lights that flicker when I first turn them on. This started happening about 3-4 months ago after living in the house for over a decade without any problems. The flickering seems to go away after the lights have been on for about 10-30 minutes. I've already changed the bulbs and checked the connections behind the light switch, but I'm no electrician. I even tried resetting the breaker, but that didn't help. There aren't any buzzing sounds either. Any ideas or suggestions on what might be causing this?

It could potentially be due to some unusual loads on that circuit. I had a similar issue where my LED lights would flicker when the washing machine was running or when my printer was heating up. You might want to check if any other devices are creating a load on the same circuit when the flickering happens.

I don’t think there are any other devices affecting it. The flickering happens right after I turn them on and doesn't seem to relate to anything else running.

In my situation, I discovered that a loose wire connection was the culprit. I called in an electrician who tightened everything up, and the flickering stopped. While some flickering is normal for LED lights warming up, 10-15 minutes seems excessive. If the problem persists, getting a professional to check the wiring might be a good call to ensure everything is safe.

Thanks for the suggestion! It's strange that it's only happening in this one room since we have LEDs all over. I guess it's time to call someone in for a check.

It could likely be a loose wire connection somewhere in your setup. It’s simple to overlook, but definitely worth checking out!
