Accidentally Damaged My Rental Garage Door – What Should I Do?

I accidentally backed my car into the garage door at my rental, and now I'm in a bit of a pickle. The door is an old 3-panel Masonite composite type, but I just found out they don't even make replacement panels for it anymore. To make matters worse, my landlord is a lawyer and already seems to be hinting that I'll have to pay for a full replacement, which could cost me a lot of money. I'm not exactly in a financial position to cover that right now. Is there a cheaper way to fix this, like using plywood or something similar? I'd love to hear if anyone's been in a similar situation and what solutions worked for them.

Unfortunately, you caused the damage, so you'll likely be responsible for fixing it. You might want to negotiate with your landlord on a repair solution that works for both of you. Trying to reach a compromise could save you both some hassle and money.
