Hey, everyone! I'm a total rookie in the house plant scene and so far have managed to keep a couple of pothos and a swiss cheese plant alive without any major disasters—go me! I'm reaching out to see if anyone has some tips or pieces of advice they wish they had when they were just starting out. What are some essentials that you've found helpful in your plant journey?

Welcome to the club! A couple of things to remember: don’t rush to repot your plants too soon, and if you think your plant might be dry, it probably isn't as dry as you think. Many houseplants thrive when they are a bit pot-bound because it helps focus their energy on growing nice leaves instead of just roots. Also, check the roots when repotting; if you see more roots than dirt, it's definitely time for a new pot. And keep an eye out for soggy feet—most plants hate standing in water!

Great point! For clarification, do you mean a pot without drainage or one with drainage that’s just sitting in a saucer of water?
