Hey everyone! I'm 19 and looking to kick off my own lawn mowing business. I've got some basic gear like a push mower, weed wacker, and leaf blower, but I'm pretty new to the whole scene—mostly just mowed my parents' lawn so far. I'm taking business classes at community college and feel solid about that part. I'm mainly worried about the actual work—like messing up someone's lawn with the weed wacker! I've been practicing on my own lawn, but any tips or advice on what else I should know would be super appreciated!

Start cutting lawns and don’t stress too much about making mistakes; it's part of the learning process. I’ve messed up quite a bit with uneven cuts and nobody’s really cared! Just remember that grass grows back. And while the business side is important, getting experience through trial and error can be invaluable.
Make sure you really learn to differentiate between desired plants and weeds! I’ve had bad experiences with others rushing through yards and damaging my plants, like when someone cut down my elephant ears. Take your time and don’t rush—it pays off!
If you're nervous about how to actually do the work, consider joining someone else's crew before going solo. I did that for a couple of seasons and it really helped me refine my skills. Working alongside someone who's experienced can teach you a lot and boost your confidence!
