Hey everyone! I'm looking to build an electric motorcycle using the frame of an existing gas bike. I've done some research, but I'm realizing I might be in over my head with the skills and knowledge needed! Are there any companies that sell complete kits with plug-and-play components for the battery, motor, and controller? I'd prefer a non-hub motor to make it chain drive. Ideally, I'm hoping to reach a top speed of around 100 km/h and a range of about 70 km, but I'm willing to compromise on those specs just to get the bike up and running. Any advice or suggestions would be super appreciated!

Have you got a welder on hand? If not, it’s worth checking out some Surronster videos where he swaps gas engines for electric motor kits. He doesn't really do step-by-step guides, but his tutorials can help you understand different kits out there. Also, remember that the first build can be a bit of a learning curve, but once you get the hang of it, your next project will go much smoother! By the way, what motorcycle frame are you thinking of using?
Weight is definitely something to consider; it can really affect your bike's performance. For kits, check out websites like diylectriccar.com or openinverter.com. There are tons of conversion kits available, though most are geared towards cars rather than bikes. I’ve tackled a couple of car conversions myself, and having ample room and the right weight capacity is crucial!
