Hey everyone! I'm looking for guidance on starting my gardening career as a beginner. I've been working at a farm since 2022, mainly helping with animals and now in the garden. I'm considering taking a position as the Head Gardener next year after my manager leaves. I have some gardening experience, but I worry about being overwhelmed and making mistakes. I'd appreciate any tips on how to handle this transition, gain more knowledge, or general advice about gardening. Thanks!

If you're in the US, check out your state's Master Gardener program! It's a multi-week class covering everything from botany and soil to pest control and plant propagation. It only costs a little, and some places even offer scholarships. It really helped me build a solid foundation in gardening, and you’ll find reliable resources from your training. Just know that after the class, you'll have to do a bit of volunteering to get certified, but it's a great starting point!

I'll definitely look into that! It sounds really helpful. I might not have time for it if I take the new position, but it sounds like a great idea for the future. Thanks for the suggestion!
