Hey everyone! I'm looking to replace 10 average-sized windows (about 30"x50") and I got a quote for Anderson Renewal windows that came to $24,000, or $2400 per window. I did some research and it seems like I might be getting ripped off since I read that typical costs should be closer to $1500 each. To make matters a bit more complicated, 3 of the windows have rotted sills. I'm wondering if any of you have thoughts on this quote? Also, are there other brands I should consider besides Anderson and Anderson Renewal? I've heard of Pella being another high-quality option.

Honestly, Renewal by Andersen is one of the most expensive options you can find. I work for Marvin and would love to share more insights on different choices available. Where in the U.S. are you located?
I really wouldn't go with Anderson Renewal. They tend to be way overpriced for what you get. I recommend checking out a local lumber yard that sells regular Andersen windows instead and hiring a contractor for installation. In my experience, Marvin makes some of the best residential windows out there!
Absolutely agree! Renewal by Andersen and Andersen windows are totally different - Renewal is overpriced and has aggressive sales tactics. Stick with regular Andersen for quality.
Yeah, I'm a general contractor too, and I often suggest Sierra Pacific as a good alternative.
I went with Milgard for my windows and did the install myself. It took a bit of time, about a day each, but I saved around $15,000 by doing it myself. Seriously, replacement isn't as hard as it seems if you put in some effort.

I'm in Connecticut.
