My idea is to use an old couch frame, replace the cushions and filling, and reupholster it myself. I've also thought about starting small, perhaps with a mini version for my dogs, just to test the process. Building your own couch can be a challenge, but totally rewarding! I customized a sofa a few years back using a company called Monarch. I chose a design, modified dimensions, and sourced durable fabrics separately. Surprisingly, it ended up costing less than many options in stores, and it's still in great shape after 7 years! Plus, no cheap materials were used in the build. Definitely look into custom options if you can, or get creative with your own builds for something uniquely yours!
