I'm in the process of buying an apartment that has some pretty outdated tiles, and while I'm planning on bigger renovations down the line, I want to make some smaller updates in the meantime. I'm wondering what you all think I should do with these tiles now. I've heard mixed reviews about painting them—any thoughts on that? Would giving them a good scrub and perhaps changing the grout color help improve their look? I'm a total newbie to home improvement, so I appreciate any guidance! If you're looking for a quick fix, a good cleaning might do wonders. Another option is to lay new tiles right over the existing ones if you want to cover them up without too much hassle. It worked for me in a similar situation!
Painting tiles can be a risky move, and it might not give you the results you're hoping for. Instead, I recommend scrubbing them well to discover the original grout color. If you're definitely planning a bathroom reno in the future, I suggest just giving them a good scrub for now. There's no need to go overboard since you'll be changing them anyway.
