Affordable DIY Ideas for a Blue Wood Panel Wall

Asked By ColorfulPenguin77 On

I'm helping a client set up a video studio and we need a blue wood panel or slat design for the background. Something like what you'd find at Home Depot or Amazon, but I'm looking for some budget-friendly DIY alternatives. The walls are concrete, and I'm planning to screw plywood into them to secure the paneling since it's a rental. One idea I had was to use laminate flooring installed vertically, and I've got plenty of experience with that. Another option is building it from scratch using wood planks and brads, then finishing it with stain. Any creative suggestions?

Have you checked out this shiplap panel from Home Depot? It’s called the White Nickel Gap Shiplap Panel - looks nice and is pretty affordable! Just paint it blue and you’re good to go!

Not a bad idea! The client prefers a wood texture, but I'll mention it to him.

Yeah, painting it blue could work if you need a simpler solution!

If you're going for a DIY look, consider using reclaimed wood planks! You can find them online or at local stores, and you can easily stain them in a blue shade of your choice. It will give you the wood look while being budget-friendly!

Reclaimed wood sounds like a great idea! It will add character and uniqueness to the studio.

Definitely an eco-friendly option too, plus it might fit the design style better!
