I just picked up some WS2812B 5V LEDs that I'll be running on an ESP32 WROOM32 and a power supply, about 20 meters worth. I'm trying to keep it budget-friendly while finding some diffusers since most options seem really overpriced. I'm considering small opaque tubing since the strips are 9.5mm wide, but I'm not entirely sure if that's the best route. What do you guys suggest?

I've had success using layers of transparent magic tape to create a diffusion effect for my LED strips. The results were pretty nice—smooth lighting without hotspots! You might want to give that a try.
Pool noodles can work as a budget solution for LED diffusers if you need something quick! Just cut them to size and see if they fit your space.
That's a clever idea! I didn't think of pool noodles, but they're a bit too bulky for my corners.
Keep us posted on your diffuser journey! I really dislike spotty LED strings too. I've heard that certain types of polyethylene tubing can be a great fit and are pretty affordable, so that might be worth checking out.
I might grab some polyethylene tubing to test it out. Sounds like it could work well!

Sounds interesting! How did it look in the end? I’d love to see a picture of it if you have one!
