Hey everyone, I've come across a ton of posts where simple home projects spiral out of control into full renovations. I had a simple idea to recaulk my shower, but now I'm facing hidden mold and moisture issues. Am I in for an unexpected nightmare? I totally feel you! I just wanted to swap out some old cabinets, and before I knew it, my kitchen was down to the studs and subfloor! It can escalate quickly. Just take it one step at a time and don’t stress too much.
Don't panic! First, try using a hair dryer or heat gun to dry out the moisture. After that, treat the area with a product like 'Mold Armour' and let it dry again. Once everything’s dry, recaulk with a mold-resistant caulk. You should be good to go! Also, make sure you use grout that doesn’t need sealing for the future.
