Am I Dealing with Heat Damage on My Plant?

Hey everyone! I'm reaching out because I think my plant may be suffering from heat damage. We're experiencing a significant heatwave here in Pennsylvania, and the nighttime temperatures are still quite warm (in the 80s), which is a big change from the mild weather and rain we've had recently. My plant was actually thriving in full sun up until now, but I noticed sudden damage this afternoon—everything looked fine just a few hours prior. I've moved her indoors for the time being.

She gets some shade during the hottest part of the day, and it's been about a month since I last watered them, so overwatering isn't the issue here. This damage appeared so suddenly, and I've been careful to water based on need rather than a schedule, using deep bottom watering whenever the plant shows signs of thirst. The droplets you see are from Spinosad that I just applied.

Is there anything else I should be doing for her? I plan to water the plants tonight once it cools down, but since some are still pretty firm, is it necessary to prevent root damage? Their pots are extremely hot, and I'm worried about what this summer has in store for my plant collection. Appreciate any advice! ?

I'm sorry to hear that, it does look like your plant is suffering. I had a similar issue with my lilac mist—leaves dropping off at the slightest touch! It's tough to see, but usually, plants find a way to bounce back. Just keep monitoring the situation and provide some consistent watering. You'll get through this!

Yeah, it definitely sounds like heat damage. Those high temperatures can really impact plants, especially if they're not used to it. Just make sure to keep them well-hydrated as the heatwave persists. A good drink during the cooler parts of the day can help them recover, but avoid getting the leaves wet. Giving them some shade during peak sun hours can also work wonders. Hang in there!
