I just had my siding evaluated and was told it all needs replacing. I have a simple single-story ranch house with no obstructions for the installation. I was looking at James Hardie fiber cement siding for roughly 2200 square feet. The first estimate I received was $84,400, but then they offered a promotional rate of $59,800. This includes coil wrap, soffit replacement, and the removal and installation of new siding. After doing some research, it seems like this quote is unusually high. I'd love to hear from others who might have experience with siding costs.

For $60k, I'd bet I could install it myself! But seriously, get at least three quotes and see what other pros are charging. A quote like that raises huge red flags for me. I'd also recommend checking the James Hardie website for certified contractors.
That quote definitely sounds way off. A reputable business wouldn’t offer to lose around $25k just like that—promotional rate or not. I’d suggest looking for other contractors before making any decisions.
Yeah, that price is outrageous! The 'discount' brings it down closer to what it should be, around $25k, but that's on the higher end unless you’re in an area with a really high cost of living. Sounds like you need to get some more estimates to compare!
