Am I Overwatering My Succulents?

Hey everyone! I'm new to the world of succulents and just got my hands on a bunch from my dad's garden and a local nursery. I've been watering them about once a week, checking the soil first, and sometimes I push it to a week and a half if the soil feels too moist. I used to care for orchids, so I'm still getting used to the needs of these plants. I've tried to position them for the best sunlight exposure: the top tier gets indirect sun while the middle tier enjoys direct sunlight. I've even adjusted their positions based on what I've read. I'm really worried I might be doing it wrong, especially since my Echeverias look a bit leggy and splayed out. None of them seem underwatered, but I'd love your advice on their placement and watering frequency!

Your succulents look fantastic! Watering can be tricky, and it really depends on your local environment. I usually just water my plants when they start to look a little thirsty rather than sticking to a strict schedule. I keep mine outside in terra cotta pots during summer and let rain take care of them. In winter, I put them indoors by a south-facing window and hardly water at all. If they're stretching out, that might mean they're not getting enough sun, so you might want to check that.

Thanks for the tip! I live in Southern California, so I think more sunlight is definitely what they need. I just moved my Echeverias to a sunnier spot yesterday!
