Am I Paying Too Much for My Paver Patio Installation?

Hey everyone, I recently made a deal with a company to install a paver patio using Beacon Hill Unilock pavers for an area of about 500-600 sq ft. The project includes a rectangular patio of 450 sq ft and two walkways leading to a gate. They're also taking care of clearing out some overgrown bushes, planting six boxwoods, and laying river rock beds around my deck. The company is charging $33 per sq ft for the patio, which feels pretty steep based on my research. Overall, the total cost is $22,000, excluding the boxwoods that I'll buy separately. I paid a deposit, but since no materials have been ordered yet, I'm feeling anxious about whether I'm overpaying. Any insights?

Hey, I'm from Massachusetts too! For reference, I charge around $28 per sq ft for similar installations. Prices can vary a lot based on factors like grading and if machines can access the work area. $33 per sq ft isn't outrageous, but it sounds like you would have benefited from getting a few more quotes before making a final decision. Just keep an eye on everything as the work progresses!

Honestly, the best way to know if you're getting a fair deal is to get several quotes from other companies. That's the only way to gauge if the price makes sense. Trust your gut and make sure you're comparing similar services. If it feels off, it probably is. Good luck!

It really depends on a few factors! Where are you located? What type of base and drainage are they planning to use? Basics like how much river rock you're adding around the deck and what they're using for the joints also play into costs. Make sure to ask if they provide a warranty for their work. Getting multiple quotes is key to knowing if you're overpaying!
