Hey everyone, I'm reaching out because I've had a really frustrating experience with DeWalt tools and I'm starting to wonder if I just have the worst luck or if this brand isn't as reliable as it's claimed to be. I consider myself a heavy DIYer and I thought investing in their XR/Flexvolt line would save me from frequent replacements. However, in just two years, I've faced a slew of issues: my Brad nailer died within its first week (thankfully replaced), my framing nailer won't fire (DeWalt recommended just buying a new one), my flex miter saw shuts down mid-use, my shop planer burnt out after only three uses, and I have multiple issues with my other tools as well, including my impact driver and radio. I've even had small items like knives and gloves fail on me too! At this point, I'm seriously considering switching to Ryobi since I could at least afford to replace a tool when it breaks. Is DeWalt really this unreliable, or is it just me?

Wow, that sounds incredibly frustrating! I've been using DeWalt for about 16 years and only a couple of my tools have ever failed. It really makes me think your situation is pretty rare. Have you considered checking your batteries? Sometimes those can be the issue if they’re not functioning correctly. Just a thought!
It seems like something else might be causing these failures. I've been in a DeWalt shop for a decade and haven't had any breakdowns while using their tools regularly. Have you made sure there’s nothing wrong with the outlets you charge from? It could be worth checking out.

Yeah, I charge my batteries in various locations, and I’m pretty sure I've got good connections since I rewired my entire house recently. It’s just puzzling.
