Any Tips for Removing Limiter Grommets from Clamps Temporarily?

I'm working with these inexpensive WorkPro clamps (here's a link to [the model](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61h5RbAVMFL._AC_SL1500_.jpg)). Does anyone know how to temporarily remove the limiter grommets that stop the squeeze grip part from falling off? I realized that if I can take the bottom part off, I can slide the clamps through the dog holes in my workbench. Any help would be appreciated!

Check under the red disks on the opposite end of the clamp. I have similar clamps where that part is easy to remove, allowing you to disassemble the clamp. I've even converted some into spreaders this way!

You can indeed take out the limiting pin, but be cautious when removing and reinserting the bar. The internal mechanisms that lock the clamp could shift, and I’ve found that sometimes they get a bit stuck when putting everything back together.

Couldn’t you just remove the fixed jaw and slide them in that way?

Ooh yeah, good thinking!

I've had success using a nail punch and a hammer on clamps from another brand. Just be careful, it works like a charm!

Oh nice one! I wasn’t sure if it would be threaded. Happy to hear I can break out the hammer, thanks!

There's a split pin holding it. A punch and hammer will help you tap it out. You can then either tap it back in or use a 1/4-20 bolt and nut to keep it from sliding off when you want it reattached.
