Anyone else frustrated with their Dewalt drill?

I'm an electrician in the UK, and two years ago I treated myself to a Dewalt battery drill. Lately, I've noticed that the direction switch is sticking when I try to put it in reverse. Before this drill, I had a Ryobi that lasted 12 years, so I'm pretty disappointed with the durability of Dewalt after just two years. Has anyone else encountered similar issues? Also, I should mention that the chuck keeps coming loose, which is really annoying.

What's the model of your drill? It could help narrow down the issue if we know which one you're using.

It sounds like you might have the Atomic drill. Those have a reputation for these problems. If you’re open to it, I’d suggest upgrading to the XR Compact DCD805 if you stick with Dewalt; I've had better luck with it.

I bought a brand new Dewalt 700 series drill, and I'm facing similar issues. Mine doesn't have chuck problems, but it seems odd for a new tool to have these faults, right?
