I'm curious if anyone else uses plain tape, like Scotch, to keep their male and female Dupont wires connected. I find it helpful to prevent them from falling out, but I rarely see others doing this, even in YouTube tutorials about Dupont wires and breadboards.

Hot glue is my go-to! Just be careful with it, especially if you need something temporary. I prefer soldering for long-term solutions, but hot glue can work in a pinch for mini prototypes!
I actually know a few people who bundle wires with dental floss! Whatever keeps your wires together works in my book. I sometimes reinforce mine with Kapton tape since it's stronger than regular tape. But I totally get your vibe; I've yanked connectors before using just my hands.
I've never tried tape. If your Dupont wires aren't staying put, it might be worth looking into more secure connectors. I usually reserve Dupont for solderless breadboards that stay put and don't get moved around much.
