Hey everyone! I recently stumbled upon some flower seeds that are over six years old, and I couldn't resist giving them a go. I found four packets in my local seed share: three are annuals (lobelia, cornflower, and verbena) and one is a perennial (asters). I know they might not be very viable at this age, but I figured it would be fun to experiment since I had some extra space in my propagator. Fingers crossed! Has anyone had any success stories with planting old seeds?

Cornflowers are surprisingly hardy! I’ve saved seeds from them before and they grew just fine, so I think you’ll have a good shot. Plus, I've had success with poppies that were 3 years old—they germinated without any issues!
I've had great luck with 30+ year old tomato seeds. They still grew really well! So don’t lose faith—old seeds can surprise you!
I planted some miniature sunflower seeds that were about 7-8 years old, and they all came up great! So, there’s definitely hope for your seeds. Good luck!
