Hey everyone! I recently installed a DIY solar roof setup, and I'm trying to get it ready for inspection. I'm looking into using Tigo Rapid Shutdown Devices (RSDs), but I've hit a snag with inverter compatibility. I reached out to Tigo to see if their devices work with my Sungoldpower 6000W inverter, but they mentioned they haven't tested it yet. From what I understand, the Tigo transmitter just monitors the electrical flow with a hall sensor, so I'm hoping it will still work regardless of the inverter. Has anyone here had any experience with Tigo RSDs? I'd really appreciate any insights! Thanks!

I've had experience with Tigo, and I can say it works well! It would be great if it wasn't needed, but we do what we must. Just to break it down, Tigo has a few parts: you need the TS4 units installed under each panel—generally one per panel, but you can sometimes pair them up. Then there’s the TAP (Tigo Access Point), which also goes under the panel, and you need one for each array. Lastly, the CCA (Cloud Connect Advance) connects to the TAP and can be linked to any inverter with a dry contact relay. For instance, my Sol-Ark inverter has one that controls my CCA. The CCA also tracks performance data. Just a heads-up, some inverters come with Tigo transmitters integrated, but most don’t.

I’ve got a new setup too, and I actually need to grab the TS4 readings for commissioning. Do you think I could use a remote camera or scope to check under the installed panels? Just curious, since my installer might not finish the job.
