I've got a two-year-old apple tree that's being overwhelmed by aphids! They're all over the leaves, making them curl, and now they're also invading the flowers. I really want to avoid using Neem oil if I can, but I'm worried about my tree since it was a gift from my mom. I live in an urban area and have been lucky enough to see a few hoverflies in my backyard, but I haven't spotted any eggs or larvae yet. I've also planted some wildflowers, but they're still just seedlings. How long can my tree handle this aphid problem before I need to step in? Will it make it to summer when hopefully more natural predators will show up?

There were some suggestions given previously. Have you tried any of those methods yet? Remember, even if you did, you might not have given them enough time to show any effect. It's worth being patient!
Try giving your apple tree a strong spray with the hose—often that can dislodge the aphids enough to help. Also, a mixture of water and soap in a spray bottle works great afterward to keep them away!
Honestly, natural solutions can be hit or miss. Sometimes they really just invented chemicals for a reason. Just keep an eye out for your tree's health!
