Hey everyone! I'm dealing with some moisture issues in my plaster walls and noticed that my moisture meter is giving readings between 20% and 25% in a few spots. These areas are primarily at the corners of outside walls and around windows, with one spot hitting around 30%-34%. Interestingly, when I move the meter just an inch away, the readings drop to a normal level of about 8%-11%. Should I be worried about these moisture levels? If it is a concern, who would be the best professional to call for help? Thanks for your suggestions!

It sounds like a good idea to use an infrared camera, which can help you see the moisture distribution more clearly. Sometimes, high readings in specific areas might just be due to poor caulking or even a small leak. Getting a clearer picture with an IR camera could pinpoint the exact source of the moisture, making it easier to address the issue.
That's interesting! I had a professional come over a while back, and they used both a moisture meter and infrared testing, but they didn't find any significant problems in my home. I'm curious why you're seeing higher readings now in that particular spot. Maybe it’s worth monitoring for a bit?
