I noticed some landscaping workers applying weed killers in our community and asked them about the chemicals they used. They mentioned Mecamine D, Barricade, and some fertilizer. I'm curious if these chemicals are safe to spray around residential areas. What do you all think?

It's still poison, though. "Safe" really depends on how you look at it. Just be cautious if you have kids or pets around.
Whether these chemicals are safe can be subjective. Mecamine D contains 2,4-D and Dicamba, which are broadleaf herbicides used in residential lawns. It's labeled for that use, but it's still essential how it's applied. Barricade is a pre-emergent herbicide also for lawns. So, technically, they're legal, but safety can vary based on the applicator's skill.
Generally, these chemicals are pretty common in the landscaping industry. Most lawn care companies use similar products, so it should be okay in many neighborhoods.

Yeah, but 2,4-D and Dicamba are quite toxic. Just something to keep in mind.
