Are Dewalt 60V String Trimmer Attachments Worth It?

Hey everyone! I'm thinking about jumping on the deal at Home Depot for the Dewalt 60V string trimmer with an extra battery, especially since I already own a 60V blower and several 20V tools. My plan is to expand my collection of attachments for the trimmer, like a cultivator and pole saw, but I'm hesitant because I've seen many of these attachments seem generic with just Dewalt branding. I'm wondering if I'll truly be satisfied with their performance. I checked out some videos on the cultivator and it appears pretty underwhelming. Are there better alternatives out there? Considering I have an acre of property, I'll probably only use these attachments a few times a year. I'd love to hear your experiences with this system and the available attachments.

Last spring, I grabbed a Ryobi attachment to use with my 60V string trimmer, and it's been a solid choice. I went with it over the Dewalt one because it has a sturdier metal top instead of plastic and comes with wheels, which helps since it's a bit heavy. I'm pretty pleased with the Ryobi's performance, and it was handy to find it locally too!

I've only got the Dewalt-branded string trimmer, but I'm using a bunch of attachments from other brands like Ryobi for the pole saw, edger, and even a snow thrower. One perk is that you're not tied to just one brand since many attachments are universal—apart from a few brands that have their own connections. Performance-wise, I've been very happy with all my attachments, and the price for the trimmer with the extra 9Ah battery is really a steal! About the cultivator, I can't speak from experience, but even if it doesn’t cut it for you, I think the power head is still worth having for the other options.

Definitely! I'm seeing good reviews on a bunch of attachments out there.

I once bought a gas attachment set from Amazon really cheap, which included a trimmer, hedge trimmer, pole saw, and edger. The gas engine was a dud, but the attachments worked perfectly on any head I used them with. In fact, I used the edger with my 60V and it performed like a champ!

A lot of these attachments really are just generic ones repackaged with a Dewalt sticker since Stanley Black & Decker owns Troy-Bilt and Trimmer Plus now. The good news is that you can mix and match since the Dewalt power head is compatible with universal attachments. I got a fantastic Sunseeker articulating pole saw that's way better than the Trimmer Plus options. Honestly, the power head itself works great!
