I'm considering upgrading to Forge batteries for my M18 tools, specifically the combi drill and SDS+ models. I currently have standard 5.0Ah batteries. Do you think the Forge batteries will significantly boost performance, or are my existing batteries sufficient?

I just got my first Forge battery, and I can't believe the difference! I’m using a 6.0 Forge with my 7 1/4 saw, and it really has all the power I need. It's noticeably better than the 5.0. I even use it with my router, and it performs great! You'll appreciate the extra punch, especially if you’re working with demanding tools.
These Forge batteries are fantastic! I have mostly 5.0s, but my 8.0 Forge feels like a beast! It offers amazing runtime, and the tools keep performing well even as the battery drains.
I’d be cautious using a high-powered Forge on a brushed tool like an SDS. They can start overheating since those tools are usually designed for lower output. That said, I've been using a brushed SDS with 6.0 high output packs, and it’s been fine, though I assume it will wear out faster. As for the fuel drill, it’s a different story—it works incredibly well with Forge batteries!
