I tend to garden spontaneously, often finding myself digging in the dirt whether I intended to or not. I rarely think ahead to put on gloves, though I recently got some cute work gloves from Costco that I'm considering returning because I'm unsure if I'll even use them. I don't want them to go to waste, but I also don't want to get them dirty. So, the big question is: Are gardening gloves actually worth it, or is it just up to the situation? Yay, nay, or it depends?

Yes, definitely wear gloves! Soil can harbor all sorts of things, some of which are not great for your health. I prefer wearing gauntlet gloves for extra arm protection too. Safety first! But hey, if you're just pulling a single weed, I won’t judge... ?
Definitely worth it! I can't imagine working in the garden without gloves. They protect your hands from dirt, pesky plants, and all sorts of outdoor mishaps. I keep mine tucked in a gardening apron so they're always handy when I need them, which makes it easier to tackle those spontaneous gardening moments without worrying about my skin getting all damaged.
Totally agree! They make such a difference on those tough days.
I think it really depends on what you're doing. If I'm doing something like weeding where I need to be precise, I usually go without gloves to feel the soil better. But for heavier tasks, I have some sturdy gloves that I trust. They protect me from scrapes and cuts, especially when I'm planting trees or dealing with thorny plants. Plus, a good tip I heard was to keep gloves in an old mailbox at the garden entrance, super convenient!
That's a genius idea! I might try that.

Haha, thank you for the permission! Sometimes you just need to get your hands dirty.
