It really depends on where you are! I'm diagonally across the state from you in a smaller job, and I paid around $1000 for 40 feet of gutter with one downspout, but that was during a roofing job. Smaller jobs tend to have higher per-foot costs. Just keep in mind that expenses can vary significantly based on location and company.

This was done by an Amish roofer just across the border in Ohio, which tends to be a bit cheaper. I think your estimates reflect a bit higher pricing, especially since you mentioned you're not getting guards.
