Are My Gutter Quotes Reasonable?

Asked By zZx77Ka9 On

I received three quotes for installing about 80 feet of 6-inch gutters with four downspouts on my house. All the estimates came in around $2400 each, which seems a bit more than I anticipated. I know living outside of Philadelphia can drive prices up, but I wanted to check if this feels reasonable to others who have had similar work done. Could you share your experiences?

It really depends on where you are! I'm diagonally across the state from you in a smaller job, and I paid around $1000 for 40 feet of gutter with one downspout, but that was during a roofing job. Smaller jobs tend to have higher per-foot costs. Just keep in mind that expenses can vary significantly based on location and company.

I just had new gutters and guards installed recently, but I went for 5-inch gutters and paid under $2k. This was done by an Amish roofer just across the border in Ohio, which tends to be a bit cheaper. I think your estimates reflect a bit higher pricing, especially since you mentioned you're not getting guards.

Exactly, since you're not even getting gutter guards, that adds to the feeling those quotes are a bit high.

I paid $3200 for 235 feet of 6-inch aluminum gutters and 5 downspouts here in Seattle about four months ago. Granted, I could have found cheaper options, but I chose a well-established company with good reviews. It sounds like your quotes might be on the high side considering the amount you need!

Yeah, that's a lot more gutters than I have. Your pricing definitely suggests those quotes might be a bit steep.
