Are My Landscaping Quotes Reasonable?

I have about 3,750 square feet in my backyard that I'm planning to completely clear out since it's filled with clumping grass that's about 4 feet tall. I got a quote for $19,000 that covers demolition, tilling the soil, trimming a large oak tree, and installing mulch along with local drought-resistant plants. Another company quoted me $17,000, but that only includes sod and not the plants. Their breakdown showed $6,000 for demo labor and $11,000 for the mulch and labor. The $19,000 quote is slightly higher but it includes $4,000 worth of plants. Is this pricing fair, or should I look for more quotes?

Based on what you've shared, the $19k quote seems more reasonable, especially since it includes the plants. Pricing can vary a lot based on location and what's included. If you want more assurance, consider asking for additional breakdowns or references from both companies.

What specific info would help clarify the pricing further?

It's a good idea to get another quote for comparison before making a decision, but I'd advise against just going with the lowest bid. Sometimes cheaper options can lead to unexpected issues down the line. Take your time to find a reliable company that offers a balance of quality and cost!

Totally agreed! It’s better to invest a bit more for peace of mind and good quality.
