I'm curious about the effectiveness of pinless moisture meters. I'm hesitant to create holes in my walls and ceilings with traditional meters, but I want to avoid wasting money on a pinless one if they're not reliable. Does anyone have experiences or recommendations? Thanks!

I picked up the Klein pinless meter for around $50 from Lowe's, and it worked wonders for finding wet spots in my ceiling after some plumbing issues in the apartment above me. It helped me detect a wet area that I couldn't see or feel with my bare hands. It also performed well on concrete in my basement—definitely worth a try!
Have you considered using a thermal camera instead? Topdon makes one for under $200 that can detect wet spots. It might be a more versatile option for tracking down moisture issues.
I hadn't thought of this but that's a really good idea, thanks!
Just a heads up, thermal cameras sense heat changes, not wetness specifically.

Thanks for the recommendation!
