Are Smaller M18 and M12 Forgeries Coming Soon?

Hey everyone! I'm thinking about investing in some HB3 batteries, but I want to hold off for a bit if Milwaukee is planning to release smaller versions of their M18 and M12 forges. I really love the compact size of the DeWalt PS 1.7 and 3.5 models, so I'm curious if we might see something similar from Milwaukee soon.

As far as I know, nothing's been confirmed yet, but there are expectations that Milwaukee might be working on a 3.0 or 4.0 forge. It really depends on whether they decide to use 18650 or 21700 cells for that. We're all just waiting to see what they come up with!

I've been toying with the idea of upgrading my CP3.0 to a spicy CP5.0 using Molicel P50Bs, but I’m not sure I have enough of a reason to just yet. Curious if anyone else is considering similar upgrades.

Why wouldn’t they consider using pouch cells for a super small battery, like a 2/3Ah? Seems like a good option!

I recently saw a discussion about how a 18650 pack using Ampace JP30 cells could potentially lag behind a current 21700 3.0HOCp battery in performance. There’s a lot of excitement about the idea of a 2P5S pack that could balance power and weight. Hopefully, Milwaukee takes these specs into account for their next models!

Totally agree! Tabless 18650 packs would really give M12 tools a boost. If they go for Samsung 25S cells, they could leave the current models in the dust.
