Are Springtails Common in Store-Bought Compost?

I bought a bag of Levington multi-use compost, and now I've spotted some tiny bugs in the plant pot I used it in. They look just like springtails, which I'm familiar with from my terrariums. Is it normal for compost to have springtails, or could this be a sign of an infestation?

Yeah, it's pretty common to find bugs in bagged compost. It might actually be fungus gnats rather than springtails. I've had that happen with bagged potting soil before. Just keep an eye on it, and if they start causing problems, you might have to take action!

Thanks for the info! That definitely sounds more plausible than springtails.
