I accidentally left some store-bought eggs outside of the fridge for over a day. I'm wondering if they're safe to eat now or if I should just throw them away. Any tips on how to check would be really helpful!

Honestly, if you're not feeling sure, I'd suggest hard boiling them. That way, even if they're a bit off, cooking them through will minimize any risk. Just don’t use them raw, better safe than sorry!
In a lot of places, especially in the US, we need to refrigerate eggs because they're washed, which removes their protective bloom. So yeah, it's important to keep them cold after purchase. If they were left out, I'd be cautious!
One great way to check if your eggs are still good is the water test! Just fill a bowl with water and drop the egg in. If it sinks, you're all set! If it stands upright, it's still safe but not super fresh. If it floats, it's a no-go, throw it out!
Thank you for this!

That makes sense. I definitely didn't know they had to be refrigerated!
