I'm in the market for a jointer to help me mill board faces, but I'm stuck with only having 110V power in my garage. I've heard that investing in an 8-inch jointer is the way to go, but every standalone model I find seems to require 240V. Is there such a thing as an 8-inch jointer that runs on 110V?

Yeah, I actually have a Grizzly 8" jointer that works on 110V. It's been pretty great for my needs! Just make sure to check if it's a benchtop model since those tend to be more common in the 8-inch category with 110V. But honestly, if you're considering options, I'd recommend going for a 110V 6" freestanding jointer over an 8" benchtop if you're tight on power capacity.
If you're looking for specific models, the Cuttech 8-inch jointer is pretty cool! It has a spiral cutterhead, which is a nice feature. You can find it on their website. Just keep in mind, there are options like 10" and 12" too if you ever think about upgrading.
Check out the Laguna MJ8 8" jointer; it runs on 120V. It’s definitely worth considering if you want a sturdy machine without the hassle of wiring up 240V. I found it on Tools Today if you want to take a look.
