I've recently noticed a swarm of tiny flying insects (about 2-3 mm long) coming from the soil of my indoor snake plant. They seem to be attracted to the light from a window nearby, where they gather and eventually die. I'm pretty sure these are fungus gnats, but I want to confirm before I start any treatments. The plant looks firm and healthy, with no signs of root issues. The topsoil is dry, and it's only slightly moist below the surface.

Yep, those sound like fungus gnats for sure! I deal with them a lot, especially in plants that love moisture. Snake plants need to dry out between waterings, so try letting the soil dry out completely to help with the pest problem. And if you're interested in natural remedies, I've had great luck using beneficial nematodes; they took care of my gnat issue when nothing else worked.
Definitely fungus gnats, and they can be super annoying! Thankfully, they’re not harmful to your plants, but they can be a nuisance. I have a bunch of houseplants and when they hit, it gets out of hand fast. I recommend using yellow sticky traps—those work wonders! You might find them a bit gross since you'll have to deal with the dead bugs, but they get the job done. Just a tip: keep them in there for a bit even after the gnats seem to be gone to catch any new hatchlings!
