I'm looking to step up my track saw setup with TSO parallel guides, but I'm on the fence about storage options. TSO offers foam inserts compatible with their Systainer³ M 112 cases, but since I don't already own one, I'd be looking at an additional cost of around $105+ for both the case and the insert. As a hobbyist working from a small garage, I probably won't be moving these tools around much, if at all. Given that I'm already investing a good amount into this system, I want to keep everything safe from damage. If you've got the TSO parallel guide system, how are you storing the guides, knobs, and calibration rods? How delicate are these tools? Is getting the Systainer worthwhile for protection and organization?

If you’re not traveling with the guides, I'd say skip the Systainer. You could just get a foam insert to use in a drawer or grab a 3D printed wall mount. I found some cool options on WittWorks that fit either vertically or horizontally, which is perfect for tight spaces—it's a lot cheaper too!
I don’t have much shelf space, but I'm using wall mounts I found on Etsy—3D printed ones work great and save a ton of money compared to a Systainer. The guides are aluminum, so they're not super fragile but will get damaged if they take a dive or if too much pressure is applied.
I bought all my TSO gear with the Systainers and regretted it almost instantly. They're now collecting dust along with my other Festool Systainers since I don’t take them on job sites. Maybe I just wasn't their target customer?
Honestly, $105 for a foam insert? I'd pass on that, I'm more of a DIY person myself. There are plenty of budget-friendly storage solutions out there without breaking the bank!
