Battery Life for Flexvolt Circular Saw: Is This Normal?

I recently purchased a Flexvolt 60v circular saw along with a 6AH 20v/60v battery and charger. I was in the middle of my 9th cut when the saw stopped working, and I noticed the LED light was blinking. At first, I struggled to figure out what was wrong, but I eventually realized that the battery had died. I'm wondering if I'm using the wrong battery or if getting just eight cuts per charge is normal for a new battery. Should I expect more, or did I do something wrong? Just to clarify, by 'cut,' I'm referring to cutting 2x4s.

Just to clarify, with the 60v setup, that battery won't last long. I'd recommend investing in a bigger one, like a 12Ah, to improve your cutting time.

It sounds like you might have a faulty battery or maybe you're using a blade incorrectly. I've used my setup all morning with a 9Ah battery without issues. Maybe check if the blade is on right, too!

Thanks for the tip! I'm gonna double-check that.

Make sure you charged the battery fully before starting. It could drain faster if it wasn't topped up! Just to confirm, you are cutting regular 2x4s, right?

Yep, just 2x4s!

Keep in mind that a 6Ah battery at 60v is essentially only 2Ah. This can really drain quickly when cutting. You might want to consider upgrading to a larger battery, like a 12Ah, to get better performance.
