Hey folks! I'm on the hunt for a reliable 1/2" impact wrench mainly for general car maintenance tasks like tire rotations and brake jobs. I've noticed that there are several models out there, each with different breakaway and fastening torque ratings. Could anyone recommend a model that strikes a good balance for these types of jobs?

As a DIY guy, I'd recommend going with the 961 for its power. I also have a 20V 899 that gets the job done, but sometimes I wish I had a bit more torque for those stubborn nuts. If I were to buy another one, I'd definitely go with another 1/2" impact wrench, ideally a mid-torque model that isn’t too bulky.
I can't just pick one! I own a mix of tools: a 12V 901, a 20V 894, and a 961 high torque. It really comes down to what you value—size or power. If you want something versatile, the 891 is a great balance between size and power, while the 921 is solid for tighter spaces where you don’t need too much torque.
Appreciate your insight! I'm leaning towards the 891 since I need something that's both compact and powerful.
Honestly, the DCF891 is pretty much all you need for typical car work. It's a solid mid-level option that handles most jobs well without being overly bulky. I've used it a bunch for tire changes and brake work without any issues!
Thanks for the suggestion! Sounds like a reliable choice.

Totally get that! I've found that I often need the compact size more than I realized, but it's so situational.
